Graphical software and computing not only offers new techniques for combining and manipulating images, and for speedily turning creative ideas into prints, but also enables printmakers to access and utilize many different sources to create contemporary large format or standard paintings. The computer enables traditional media to be integrated with new kinds of ideas and imagery, potentially dissolving the boundaries between printmaking and other forms of artistic and scientific expression.
